The Senior Financial Analyst supports the preparation of monthly financial and management reports, financial analyses, monthly account reconciliations and analytics. This role also assists in the preparation of the annual budget, forecasting, and variance reconciliation and reporting. Creation of Business Intelligence query reports and dashboards will also be an important aspect to this role.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What you'll do
Assists in the development of long-range financial projections (operating, capital, and cash).
Support the Budget, Forecasting and Month End process.
Preparation of monthly and year-end working papers and analysis to support audit process.
Creates financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives and evaluation of Shipyard projects and contracts.
Assists with invoice review and coding.
Develops, maintains, and distributes ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.
Develops and / or maintains detailed process and procedure documentation.
Other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
Undergraduate degree in Business or Finance.
3+ years of relevant experience in business/financial analysis and complex financial modelling.
Payroll or time capture experience is an asset.
Experience in MRP and Project Accounting and/or other systems conversions.
Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficient in other MS Office tools (Word/Outlook/PowerPoint).
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP), and material resource planning (MRP) systems and/or In-depth knowledge of big data and data analytical systems.
Excellent presentation and reporting skills, including the ability to communicate with others with tact and diplomacy.
Strong knowledge of analysis from a qualitative and quantitative perspective
Strong attention to detail, problem solving, negotiating and analytical skills.
Ability to work well under pressure while being adaptable and open-minded to change and improvements.
Enjoys working within a team environment but also independently.
Strong influencing and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and strong initiative and follow through skills.

The estimated salary for this position is $ $94,000 - $112,800. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
