Job Description and Responsibilities
The Director will lead a team of HRIS professionals and own the ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of Workday HCM (Core HCM, Absence, Compensation, Payroll, and Recruiting) and Kronos (UKG) timekeeping. This position will work with key business stakeholders and the HR organization to solve business problems through technology and process improvements. The Director will be responsible for providing strategic direction for the Workday HCM platform, the Kronos (UKG) platform and the Workday HRIS team, as well as partner with stakeholders across the North America to support the technology roadmap and digital transformation initiatives.

Lead a team of skilled HRIS analysts – ensuring day-to-day system support and operations are balanced with strategic projects and initiatives successfully carried out
Provide strategic direction for the Workday HCM platform and Workday HRIS team; partner with the HR leadership to create an annual roadmap based on business needs and available resources
Evaluate, recommend, and implement Workday HCM enhancements, best practices, and operational processes that help automate, build efficiencies, enable self-service, and eliminate manual processes
Complete the upgrade of the legacy, on-premise Kronos timekeeping application to the UKG cloud timekeeping application for USA and Canada
Be hands on when needed – willing and able to configure business processes, conditional rules, security, alerts, notifications, and reports
Represent the Workday HRIS team by clearly communicating solution options that enable informed decisions by stakeholders
Ensure data integrity and that processes are aligned with regulatory standards, cyber security best practices as well as serve as the main point of contact for HR Compliance and Internal Audit teams
Collaborate closely with IT/Finance Systems/Payroll to lead Workday Releases and ensure alignment across the Workday platform
Partner with IT Operations and Legal on the creation and maintenance of change management policies and procedures
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or equivalent experience is required. Advanced degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in managing HRIS system in a manufacturing environment with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Minimum 5 years experience with union contracts and payroll processing
Minimum of 5 years experience with Workday and timekeeping applications
Experience and capability in translating non-technical user requests into complex technical specifications and solutions that meet these requirements.
Strong knowledge of Workday HRIS configuration, payroll interfaces, compliance reporting and workforce management analytics
Ability to analyze HR and timekeeping data to identify strategic workforce improvement and optimization opportunities
Ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develops and executes strategies, and track and measure results. Strong negotiating and consensus building abilities. Proven track record delivering value in a manufacturing environment. Good common-sense approach to developing cost effective solutions and understanding when good enough is sufficient.
Advanced analytical and project management skills for a variety of tasks or projects. Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets, variables and situations where only limited standardization and resources exists.
Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to members and employees.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to multi-task. Ability to work with minimal or no supervision while performing duties; has the ability and initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department activities or goals and be a strong team player.
