The Change Management Lead is responsible for leading and supporting a change management strategy to drive business and growth objectives across the organization. The Change Lead will provide strategic leadership to a team of individuals in designing and implementing a change framework that fosters an engaging and consistent experience for all stakeholders impacted by change related to projects, initiatives, and organizational structure. With a complex work environment and culture, the Change Lead will be critical in aligning change to strategic objectives, enabling the business to adopt change while developing its capabilities.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What you'll do
Supports the development, implementation, and periodic reviews of the enterprise's change management strategy.
Establishes processes related to change management activities that ensure engagement and a consistent experience with stakeholders.
Identifies interdependencies between departments and seeks emergent patterns that offer opportunities to improve change adoption at a business unit and organizational level.
Analyzes strategic problems and assesses data and information to provide insights and recommendations that support a positive change experience and help the organization develop its change capabilities.
Applies complex change management methodology and general management skills and knowledge to plan, organize, and execute change management across a variety of project sizes
Identifies potential people-side risks, anticipates resistance points, and develops specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns (e.g., identifying resistance and performance gaps, developing and implementing corrective actions).
Sets the overall direction of the Change Team and manages change resources assigned to projects and initiatives.
Develops change management solutions and makes recommendations based on understanding the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
Develops, maintains, and manages critical relationships with various stakeholders to gain support in championing change and ensuring its implementation and sustainment across the organization. Facilitates relationships and builds consensus to achieve desired transformational results.
Facilitates change and transformation capabilities by actively coaching leaders, employees and OCM contractors on the established change methodology.
Collaborates with Communications, Learning and Development, Labour Relations and HR leads to provide input when needed on how communication, training, and organizational design impact stakeholders.
Establishes models for leadership and subject matter expert-driven mechanisms to ensure post-project transition and rapid adoption of technologies.
Collaborates with Learning & Development to develop training to support the development of change capabilities across the organization.
What you'll bring
5-7 years relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or equivalent education and experience.
A Change Management certification or equivalent experience in change management principles and methodology.
3-5 years' experience in people leader roles and the ability to foster a collaborative and supportive team-based environment.
Demonstrated expert knowledge in change theories and adoption principles and how these principles can be translated into implementation strategies.
Experience developing and implementing change management systems, strategies and plans in a complex organizational setting.
Experience with large-scale, multi-partner organizational change efforts.
Experience working in and leading cross-functional business teams.
Deep understanding of the psychological and operational aspects of how individuals and organizations experience change.
The position demonstrates excellent interpersonal, collaboration and conflict-resolution skills to establish and sustain relationships across all levels, including management that supports a unionized workforce.
Proven ability to influence, engage, collaborate on and coordinate change activities successfully and positively across multiple organizations.
Possesses advanced business acumen to develop diverse organizational development programs and initiatives to support the organizations' mission, vision, values and critical objectives.
A proven ability to work effectively at all organizational levels and influence others toward a common vision or goal.
Expert communication skills to provide strategic advice and facilitation to all leaders and across all levels of the organization as well as advanced written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to assess the organization's current state from an organization development perspective, identify issues that affect the organization's overall health, and provide recommendations and coaching on corrective strategies.

The estimated salary for this position is $108,000 - $132,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
