Join Our Team as a Camp Leader!

As the Camp Leader, you'll be the key point of contact for all camping activities, collaborating with stakeholders, managing logistics, and developing engaging curricula and schedules. You'll also play a vital role in planning budgets, ensuring seamless operations, and supporting team training to create inclusive and impactful programs.

The Camp Leader works with other service areas in the agency to ensure the inclusion of clinical, educational, recreational, and cultural components into the framework of all camp programs.

Qualifications:

Education and Professional Certification:

• Completion of high school diploma

Experience:

• Minimum four (4) years of experience in teaching outdoor education and group leadership

• Develop literature/videos surrounding our camping programs for external stakeholders.
• Design, monitor, and amend internal camping documents and forms.
• Arrange end of summer camping program celebration.
• Explore new camping and outdoor education opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Services

• Develop and maintain relationships with community members, various government levels and First Nations communities surrounding our camp sites.
• Provide training to employees as a Camp educator.
• Coordinate the setup and tear down of all Ranch Ehrlo' s owned/leased campsites.
• Develop and implement a curriculum for each camp trip in Group Living Services.
• Coordinate the inventory per camp site and purchase for replacement supplies.
• Ability to display empathy, patience, and understanding in day-to-day interactions.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

• Open to continuous education and learning and development opportunities.
• Proficient computer skills.

Leadership

• Provide leadership and support to the team, potential employees, practicum students, and volunteers as directed by the director.
• Work with team members to create a positive and productive work environment.
• Display positive role modelling, agency values, and fairness.
• Collaborate with and communicate to the multidisciplinary team when required.

Management of Resources

• Submit receipts and reconcile expenses for approved camping expenditures.
• Ensure care, cleanliness, and maintenance of assigned assets and resources including; camp sites, building(s), vehicles(s), furnishings, and equipment.

Safety

• Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
• Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.

Additional Requirements

• The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.
