As a PHP Developer developing online solutions for insurance products, you will be responsible for designing and developing software that can effectively digitize and streamline the insurance product experience. You will assume a pivotal role in the software development lifecycle, leveraging your expertise and experience to develop modern web applications that feature adaptive frond-end user experience and robust backend solutions. This position is fully remote and is open to applicants residing anywhere in Canada.

Why we'll love You:

• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience with TDD (PHPUnit) and a minimum of 3 years of experience with PHP8.x using Symfony framework
• You understand API authentication/authorization technologies (OAuth2, JWT)
• You have prior experience with modern self-documenting API design with Swagger/OpenAPI
• You have prior experience with E-commerce and payment gateways (Stripe, Moneris, Authorize.Net)
• You have been building distributed task processing systems
• You possess a solid understanding of application security and performance optimization techniques
• You have used IDE, debugging, and code profiling for at least 3 years
• You are a subject-matter expert when it comes to server-side security concepts
• You have knowledge of design patterns and DRY / SOLID principles
• You are familiar with front-end technologies

Once here, you'll :

• Take full ownership of your tasks from development and testing to delivery and maintenance
• Translate complex functional, technical and business requirements into efficient and scalable software designs by taking into account time and financial constraints
• Design and implement secured and testable API systems
• Introduce modern tooling and design practices into the enterprise domain
• Responsible for the planning, coordination, development, and supervision of all activities related to the integration of applications and third-party solutions to meet the business requirements of the organization
• Collaborate with QA engineers on bug tracking and bug fixing
• Collaborate with UX/UI Designers and advise on technical feasibility of proposed design approaches
